Super Neat Semi-Automatic version of the Soviet Guryunov SG43 Belt Fed 7.62x54R Machine Gun. Built from original kits out of Poland on new US receivers. The original Goryunov was develpoed in WWII as a replacement for the Maxim, and saw service throughout the Communist world. Comes as shown with ammo can, 250 links, and carriage. Barrel 28.3", overall 44.1" total weight 96lbs. Packed in a wood crate, Rifle, carriage with spoked wheels and a 250rd belt and can.

I saw that when I was browsing at AIM earlier. AIM will ship you the gun and everything for 1 cent shipping! Considering we are talking about a hundred pounds and a lot of bulk, that's makes a difference.

Who wouldn't like to have one of those in their front yard as a sort of museum style static display?! Put a tarp over it during inclement weather. Uncover and use if to fire salutes on patriotic holidays!

You're RIGHT !

To clue everyone in on the SEMI market, the kits for these must have been very affordable. The bulk of that price you see if for re-assembling a de-militarized weapon by yours truly, BATFE upon import.

Anyhow, take my Bren kit for $200 + $100 barrel, etc.......it's about $300-$350 for all the parts then add the labor, re-welding, alignment, fabricating new parts like magazine catch attachments, etc........Voila you have a Semi Bren (.303) for $3500.

So, I'm thinking that SG43 kit was probably in the $500-$800 range at the most and the fabricators (weapon builders) bought ever last kit before they got to market. Lots of times there's so many gun parts that there's enough leftover for home-builders (i.e. - public).

ONe last point is the receiver. That looks to be a channeled milled receiver which is a b*tch to clean up after it's been torched (by BATFE). A stamped receiver is a piece of cake with the AK's being the easiest by far to rebuild.

Anyhow, you're right and just wanted to clue anyone else in who might think otherwise.

BTW - If you flip the carriage over it becomes an Anti-Aicraft stand ~ how coool is that ???
